Britam Insurance Tanzania Rolls Out Afya Care and Amani Health
7th August 2024... Britam Insurance Tanzania held a press launch introducing 2 new health insurance products, Afya Care and Amani Health. Afya Care, a unique health cover created for individuals and families and Amani Health is the health insurance solution catering to the needs of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and formalized groups of people with a minimum of 5 employees/principal members plus their nuclear families. This initiative is in support of the government's efforts of ensuring that all Tanzanians have health insurance under the Universal Health Insurance Act 2023.
Both Afya Care and Amani Health offer Inpatient (IP) and Outpatient (OP) coverage with different levels of benefits categorized in three tiers – POA, IMARA, and SUPER – for as low as TZS 370,000. Additional benefits include dental, maternity, optical, last expense, and repatriation of remains. The company offers international and referral services within East Africa and India with roaming services provided in all countries where Britam Insurance operates – Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Mozambique, and South Sudan.
Speaking at the press conference, CEO of Britam Insurance Tanzania, Farai Dogo stated, "We are excited to introduce Afya Care and Amani Health, a product that underscores our commitment to providing quality health insurance solutions to our customers. We aim to offer peace of mind by ensuring access to excellent health care services, thereby enhancing the well-being of our clients."
